Thanks Eva, great review and of course I loved this bit and totally agree with it: "James Purefoy, in my opinion, is always good. He’s like a more serious but less recognizable Hugh Jackman – a good-looking and competent actor that brings a sincerity and believable quality to all of his roles, no matter what time period they’re in. As Marshall, he has one of the most thankless parts, being the quiet hero who’s mysterious nature in only eclipsed by his abilities in battle. Remember Gerard Butler in 300? Take away all the posturing and screaming, but leave the noble strength and leading charisma… that’s Purefoy in this, and it’s played beautifully and subtle. I’m still confused over why SOLOMON KANE, another excellent leading performance from Purefoy, was swept under the rug in America"I do so hope Ironclad gets released in Australia

Indeed beautiful words which confirm the fact that James is underrated as an actor! Its main advantage is that he does not try at all costs, crowding into Hollywood, and he remained faithful to his native Britain and its cinematography. Consider how many European actors in American movies play and how many times it is a horrible role. James is a very humble person and yet a great actor, who pocketed the bounds of the Hollywood actor. His acting is a civil, human, believable, subtle and true. He can literally personify each character. Not many actors, whose performances can make up for me to tears every time James can do it! When I saw Solomon Kane last year first time,I was deeply moved.James's performance impressed me completely. His Solomon so much resemble this of Howard's books he is absolutely identical,James was able to impart to him the desolation, despair and broken human spirit that longs for redemption. I have never seen such a great performance which is Solomon Kane! The most amazing fact is that James does not play any of the characters in the same way. It's a different character every time! It is a joy to watch on screen for such a wonderful actor with such talent!
