SolomonĀ“s hat is absolutely best! Don't mind me asking, why don't you post the pictures full size, you are ok with them, as long as they aren't any wider than this one ie 1024 wide

You know how much I love James but, in general, hats don't really suit him except perhaps Solomon Kane and Blackbeard. Definitely not this one

I vaguely remember that there was a thread called Hats Off on the old forum, but beforE I could dig deeper the old forum was gone.I think it was about an exhibition of photographs, where James was one of the "modells" all that stayed behind was a bunch of pictures thaT are a riddle in themselves. the first picture is supposed to be James visiting the exhibition and is dated 17.02.2002 Uploaded with ImageShack.usfor the second pic,and it must belong to the series as you will see,I have a date as 17.08.2001 and the tag Evening Standard. So how can this be,a year before the exhibition was held.even more confusing is the year 2004 printed on the right hand edge of the pic after some Russian, cyrillic words. the rest of the photos are just to show that the really belong together and of course photos of james are always welcome Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/IMG] Uploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.usUploaded with ImageShack.us

As to the second photo, not too sure about the second guy, and having a senior moment over the third ( he was in Beau Brummel for heavens sake) Tom again and Dougray Scott. The girl in the first photo is Claudia Winkleman. I've always wondered where the bike/scooter photos came from, as our hero is delightfully young ;D maybe the exhibition was made up of photos taken over a period of years, and brought together in Oct 2002 The bike/scooter photos are among some of the first photos I acquired back in 2004 , we weren't really big on tags back then If you read this 'Holly' can you shed any light ;D

Hats Off is a fundraiser for a mental health charity-James has desiged at least 2 hats to be auctioned for them. I rooted through livejournal entries and found this for Oct 2008 This Kangol hat, customised by James Purefoy, was designed to be part of the hats OFF programme - a programme that symbolises the unveiling of the last great taboo: mental health. James was asked to customise a hat in a way that visualises how important good mental health is to him. James was one of the first people to say that he would love to be part of hats OFF. He has been involved right from the beginning and was delighted to be asked to customise this hat. As you can see he is a peace loving man and we are sure he would want this hat to go to a like minded individual. He has signed the hat on the inside and an authentication slip is also included signed by James himself. The motorbike picture is from 6the hatsoff brochure-James was the only person in it without a hat. the pictures formed an exhibition which had a short tour round galleries in england. I found that jason bell took the photos and this was also on livejournal- mentality created hats OFF in February 2001 to celebrate survival and symbolise respect for people who experience mental health problems. Quite literally taking our hats off to those who continue to thrive and live positive lives. It allows us to celebrate resourcefulness, courage and diversity. Portraits of well-known people wearing hats were taken by Jason Bell and the book was available at amazon- The hats OFF book was launched on 7th November 2002. It can be purchased at all major book stores or through www.amazon.co.uk. Jason Bell is donating all his profits from the royalties to hats OFF.

Yum! I never saw any of those lovely pics before. And it's a very sweet story. I'll bet James is on vacation now. I miss him I am teaching and writing all day - but going to France in September!!!!! (Not likely to run into James as he is anti-Paris. Such a sad fact. I may have to drink to forget xoxo to you all!

It's Hugh Bonneville, who recently played a brilliant part in Downton Abbey
