More info on Camelot, thanks to Holly over on Live Journal www.sbpost.ie/news/ireland/camelot-flying-flag-for-ireland-on-us-television-51327.htmlCamelot will keep them employed for at least the next five months and, O’Sullivan hopes, a significant period after that. ‘‘I’m expecting that we will run for five years. We’ve an order for one season - for ten hour-long episodes - from the Starz cable television network in the US but, generally speaking, companies don’t invest in something like this for a single season. ‘‘To get a proper return on your investment, you need to be thinking in terms of a longer run. We have mapped out a story that will carry Camelot through four or five seasons," he told The Sunday Business Post. The drama will be filmed entirely in Co Wicklow, on location at Luggala Castle and the Powerscourt estate, while all the interiors will be done at Ardmore. The budget for the first season of Camelot is €34.7 million - of which €20 million will be spent around Bray. The show will provide work for between 300 and 400 cast and crew. O’Sullivan has always talked about ‘‘cracking the US’’ as the goal for an Irish film industry and, by that, he principally means television. His previous production, The Tudors, was a success on the Showtime cable television network over the last four years. Now O’Sullivan is hoping for the same success with Camelot. ‘‘It amounts to the kind of continuous production we have always wanted. It offers a bigger opportunity to show what you can do while expanding your ability to do it, by increasing the size and quality of your crews," he said. Let's hope James' character stays the course

So ive started reading Le morte d'arthur, a bit like reading the bible, very old piece of littera. So king Lot seems to be a bit of a baddie so far, but Arthur knocks his wife off as do kings. Should be very interesting to see how they depict it, with Merlin and his magic etc

Camelot, starring James Purefoy, has been acquired by Channel 4 in the UK. Channel 4 acquires UK rights to Chris Chibnall’s Camelot www.digitaljournal.comChannel 4 has purchased the UK broadcasting rights to Camelot, the new fantasy drama series chronicling the life of Merlin, from Starz/GK-TV. Sounds good ladies, all these things in the pipeline, wish 'they'd' hurry and put something on the 'box'..
