At the moment in Perth, Western Australia it is 8.35am Saturday, we are 7 hours ahead of UK and anywhere between 12 and 15 hours ahead of different parts of the USA.

Well, that causes another question in my head. Which one of us is the first who starts a new day? Is it right that Kathy from Perth is the first one of us who turns of a year? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I wasn't good in geography at school.

Am i correct in thinking that the time diff between uk and oz is greater in the winter (our winter) Kath?

My general experience on this forum is that the UK [edited to say Europe] folks post first, then the US, THEN Ms. Kathy from Oz, but she's a day ahead of us! Weird!

Oh? Okaaaay, I just started to think I would understand the system, but now I'm confused again. OK let's see is I can confuse you even further....... Take todays date for the example 28.06.2011 LA time, where Cat and Irisastre are, is approx 02.15 am GMT me and Mrs P , ............................. approx 08.15 am because we here in the UK have British Summer time most of Europe is approx one/two hours ahead of us ;D Australia and Kathy .............................. approx 16.15pm simples - yes

Just to add to this, presently and because UK clocks went forward for summertime, Western Australia is actually 7 hours ahead and when your clocks go back in the winter we will be 8 hours ahead. Of course that only applies to Western Australia as there are varying time differences between us and other States but I won't go into that at the risk of confusing everyone even more, including myself

Oh? Okaaaay, I just started to think I would understand the system, but now I'm confused again. Actually there is no system, because people can log in early AM or late PM, sometimes I'm online at the same time with UK folks (I live in the US) as well as others parts of the globe...
