I thought to start a thread on what music people like to listen to. Music is a HUGE part of my life, and personally I'm a HUGE Indie rock fan. I worked in the "record business" many years ago, worked for record stores and WEA (warner elektra atlantic) distribution company, had 1200 records at one point, have about 500 CDs at this point, and tons of music on my IPOD. So what are you listening to? I'm listening to a complication of songs that I put together by bands such as Eels, Spoon, Muse, Silversun Pickups, Dandy Warhols, Shins, just to name a few... ;D AND, I'm going to see Muse in concert next month, AND, I'm going to work the Coachella festival as a volunteer which is a 3 day music festival and Muse will be there, they are my #1 favorite right now! I love ALL kinds of music too including jazz and classical!! What are you listening to now??

You know i downloaded muse as you guys liked it so much. I didn't manage one song, sounded like a loada pots and pans banging together to me, really not my thing at all...and i really tried to like it! I have open ears when it comes to music (apart from heavy twangy rock)! My first love is classical, then Jazz, blues, country, house, soul, also love a bit of cultural stuff. I'm learning how to play the piano at the mo. On me ipod at the mo: Micheal Buble (way home music when I'm most jolly), Chopin and Forever Vienna-Andrea rieu (way to work music, sedated and slow) and Ray Le montagne and some Turkish belly dancing music ;D

They weave classical music in and out of their songs, and yes, they can be heavy rock and roll at times but what I like is how eclectic they are. I know, I can make you a muse cd with my favs...

OK, welllllllllllll, if you don't like electric guitars we may have a problem! This is a good example of how people have different tastes in music! I won't try to convert you, but maybe I'll make a mix and put a FEW Muse songs on it, the mellower ones... ;D

Muse!! not for me, but my son and his fiance absolutely love them and have recently seen them 'live'. As for me, I love a variety of music but not much of the modern stuff, the mixes my son plays always sounds to me like the needle has stuck on the record (hehe, showing my age now) ;D I love a great variety of music, some operatic, Italian (Il Divo) Spanish, Jamaican, music from the shows like Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Annie Get Your Gun, Mamma Mia, Cabaret, Miss Saigon etc etc etc. Also like country and western, jazz and when I am in the mood slow, romantic music. When I am in a lively mood it is what I always loved as a teenager and still do...good ole Rock 'n Roll but unfortunately Elvis has left the building, I was such a huge fan of Elvis Presley. I too like Michael Buble and an Australian artist that sings similar songs to Michael, David Campbell, son of Jimmy Barnes but don't know if you have heard of him!! Well this is all for now, why am I humming 'I've Got You Under My Skin' ?

I generally enjoy almost all kinds of music - it just depends on what mood I am in or what I happen to be doing at the time.
Right now I'm listening to a few songs from the '60's and early '70's on my Blackberry. This very second Over You by Gary Puckett is playing as I am writing this.
