I'm finding S2 of Dowton abbey a little disappointing! What do you think Althea? Oh that is sad as S1 was just fantastic. Unfortunately that is often the case with second and subsequent seasons of some TV drama's not being as good as the first. It's not being shown here until next year.

Went to see 'The Three Musketeers' last night, it was ok, spoiled for me by the story being 'updated'. The Duke of Buckingham acquired a flying 'airship' similar to the ones in 'Stardust' and 'The Golden Compass' (an attempt to drag the story into the 21st century) with Milla Jovovich running around half dressed looking more like Lara Croft than Milady De Winter, all in all a bit of a farce.

They spoil so many classic movies by updating them, however, I will still go and see it. Went to see a movie called "The Cup" yesterday, its Australian so may not be familiar to those in other Countries but its about Damien Oliver winning the 2002 Melbourne Cup within days of his brother being killed in a horse race. The Melbourne Cup is the annual race that 'stops a nation' the only thing I bet on, dress up and really celebrate. I must say this is one of the best movies I have seen in ages.

Maybe I'm being old fashioned but i cant stand these modern movies, if i get past the first five mins its a miracle, cheap production and bad acting put me off mostly!

I totally agree, such a lot of crap around these days. I have yet to see The Three Musketeers, will have to be something pretty special to beat the original. BTW this year I actually backed the winner of the Melbourne Cup, wonders will never cease! ;D

I was chatting yesterday about 'WarHorse' have you seen it, or read any write ups. I remember seeing a revue on one of the morning chat shows ages ago, the 'horses' were phenomenal Congrats Kathy on your win, hope it's enough for you to pay another visit to blighty ;D

Have plans to hopefully visit UK again late next year or year after, have to concentrate on selling my house at the moment
